Pinar Oruc

Dr Pinar Oruc is a Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Manchester. Pinar’s area is intellectual property law, and she is the co-director for Manchester Centre for Law and Business.
Pinar has completed her PhD on copyright law in Queen Mary University of London. Prior to joining UoM, Pinar has worked as a teaching fellow (IP law, cultural property law) and then as a postdoctoral researcher in ‘reCreating Europe: Rethinking digital copyright law for a culturally diverse, accessible, creative Europe’ (H2020) for deliverables on (i) artificial intelligence and text and data mining copyright exception, and (ii) IP law and place-making. Pinar is currently working on her monograph on copyright and digital heritage.
