Jovan de Melo

Jovan de Melo is an Art Director at Blue Zoo Animation Studios. Jovan began his career as a graphic designer but eventually switched to animation in 2010 joining Copa Studio (Brazil). Over the years, his roles encompassed directing, art direction, character design, and being part of Copa Studios’ Creative Team developing new shows. In 2019, Jovan moved to the United Kingdom to join Blue Zoo. Working on projects such as “It’s Pony”, “Pip and Posy”, “In Shapes” “Supertato”, “Numberblocks”, “Colourblocks” and others, in roles such as background designer, character designer, and art director. His background in graphic design greatly influenced his approach toward character design with a stylized approach to shape and colour.
