After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University, Tim’s career in animation started as a director of photography for Cosgrove Hall working on the animated series Lavender Castle for Gerry Anderson (BBC television).
His directorial debut came in 2000, on the series Rotten Ralph for the BBC and Fox US, netting 2 BAFTA nominations. Further series included Andy Pandy, Little Robots, Fifi and the Flowetots, Roary the Racing Car, Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Cloudbabies, Lily’s Driftwood Bay, Claude, and most recently Yukee. Broadcasters have included Disney, BBC, Channel 5, Fox US, PBS, ABC, Kika and Nickelodeon to name a few. He was also approached to direct the highly acclaimed Peter Kay’s Animated All Star Band for the BBC Children in Need appeal, which reached number one in the official singles chart for two weeks and raised more than £500,000 for the charity.
Most recently Tim has just completed the feature film Ozi: Voice of the Forest, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, Mike Medavoy (Shutter Island, Black Swan) and Keith Chapman (creator of Paw Patrol, creator of Bob the Builder), scheduled for international theatrical release in Summer 2024.
Awards and nominations for some of the other series Tim has directed include an International Emmy nomination, 4 BAFTA nominations, an Irish Film and Television Academy Award, 2 Royal Television Awards and multiple Royal Television Society Award nominations, a Silver Hugo, an Irish Animation Award, an IFTA nomination, Broadcast Award nominations, British Animation Award nominations, Annecy nominations, and 3 Pulcinella nominations.
