Chris Sanders

Chris Sanders, a three-time Academy Award® nominee, is the writer/director of The Wild Robot for DreamWorks Animation. Born in Colorado Springs, CO, he grew up drawing and writing stories. After studying at CalArts he worked at Marvel Productions and Disney working as a story artist on Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, before he was made head of story on Mulan.
He co-wrote, storyboarded, and directed Lilo & Stitch, voicing the titular Stitch and earning his first Oscar® nomination. After joining DreamWorks, Sanders co-directed How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods.
Chris Sanders is a member of the Academy Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, ASIFA- Hollywood, and the Visual Effects Society. In addition to his three Academy Award® nominations, Sanders has won four Annie Awards as well as earning numerous accolades around the world for his work.
