Iain Gardner
Iain Gardner is an award-winning animator with over 20 years industry experience, cutting his teeth at Richard Williams Animation Studio. His short films have won international acclaim, with 2010’s The Tannery qualifying for the Academy Awards. He was Artistic Director of McLaren 2014, celebrating the centenary of pioneering Scottish/Canadian Animator Norman McLaren: He was also Edinburgh International Film Festival’s McLaren Award programmer for a decade.
Iain is the Creative Director of Animation Garden, currently in partnership with Iain Harvey’s Illuminated Film Company and Filmograf Poland in the production of A Bear Named Wojtek, which he also directs. This half hour special is a beneficiary of the BFI’s YACF Production Award and will be graced by a soundtrack by composer Normand Roger.
He pitched A Bear Named Wojtek and Mustard & Ketchup (another beneficiary of the YACF) at Cartoon Forum in 2018.
