Caroline Roberts-Cherry
Caroline Roberts-Cherry is founder and MD of Saffron Cherry Productions, based in Manchester. SCP makes factual, Kids and Drama. She is a BAFTA winning producer and a Grierson award winning director. Children’s content includes The World According to Grandpa for Milkshake! and in Welsh with co-production partners Boom Cymru as Byd Tad-cu for S4C. This year the show was nominated for the RTS award for best children’s programme and won the Broadcast Award for best pre-school and the Voice of the Listeners and Viewers Award for best children’s TV.
The Wonton Warrior, made for CBBC has garnered two international nominations, The Rockies and Kidscreen Awards. Saffron Cherry’s creative director is the actor and writer Sally Lindsay. She is also the creator co-writer and lead in the Channel 5/Acorn drama The Madame Blanc Mysteries. Both Madame Blanc and Grandpa are returning series. SCP has a development deal with BBC Drama and a first look drama deal with Rainmaker Distribution. Caroline has been a theatre trustee for over fifteen years, is a Smart Works Ambassador and Chair of The Pankhurst Trust (including Women’s Aid, Manchester). Caroline is passionate about Diversity and in centring women and girls in her work.
