Mackinnon & Saunders are world renowned leaders in character development for animation and producers of high-quality stop motion and digital animation. For over 30 years the team at Mackinnon & Saunders have brought some of the best-known animated characters to life for movies, TV series, commercials, and short films.

The work of the company and an astonishing array of artists has been recognised and celebrated globally with multiple awards and over 20 International exhibitions. The team have crafted puppets for Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr Fox, Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks!, Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie and the eagerly awaited Guillermo del Toro’s re-imagining of Pinocchio for Netflix.

The studio has produced the animation for countless projects, including Postman Pat, Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Twirlywoos and most recently the Netflix dark anthology The House.

Celebrating the inspiring creativity of the company and the brilliant artists within it, Ian Mackinnon and Peter Saunders come to Manchester Animation Festival for a look at their favourite projects to compliment an exhibition held at The Waterside in Sale. Join us too for a look back at Mackinnon and Saunders at 30.
