Into The Archives: Cosgrove Hall Films
When it comes to children’s TV the UK is a world leader, whilst the countries modern animation output is celebrated the world over, it draws from a strong legacy left from some of the finest animated shows ever devised for young audiences. From 1976 onwards some of the most memorable characters to come from the UK came out of Cosgrove Hall, a local company based in Chorlton.
Join us as we celebrate the legacy of Cosgrove Hall as we delve into the archives and look back at some of the object and stories that demonstrate the lineage of one of the greatest animation studios to ever exist. If you’re a fan of dynamite dodging Danger Mouse, dopey dragon Chorlton and his wheelie companions, the theatrical exploits of Mr Toad or the vampire duck with stars in his eyes – Duckula, this event is not to be missed. Come and see how these cultural powerhouses came to be with a panel of archivists and people who worked at the studio, as we go into the archives with Cosgrove Hall.
