In The Frame: Taking Animation Seriously
How many times do we need to hear that animation is not a genre? How many times do we need to hear that animation is not just for children? How many times do we have to have this conversation? Hopefully, just one more time!
As part of our yearly introspective look at the animation industry this year we will ask how we can get distributors, streamers and the public at large to take animation seriously and what cultural barriers or misunderstandings might be getting in the way of this goal.
The conversation will hopefully lead to ways in which we can frame animation beyond the animation industry and how we might foster a better understanding for those worried about the capabilities of animation with an audience. Helping us diagnose the issue and attempt to put things right is a panel of experts that all share in our mission to take animation seriously.
