About

Flipbook is an animation and VFX studio, formed in 2010 and based in Manchester city centre. We’re a team of artists, technologists and creators who produce visual content for a variety of entertainment channels and platforms. We specialise in moving image, especially Animation, Visual Effects and CGI and count ourselves fortunate to collaborate with some of the biggest names in television, feature film, video games and advertising.
As well as working on episodic TV for Netflix, ZDF, Sky, BBC and Channel 4 we’ve also produced a number of award winning short films. Our short film, Black Slide, won the audience award for Best Short Film at the British Animation Awards and was nominated for an Annie award, an Annecy Crystal and it was shortlisted for the Oscars.

The studio has also produced a number of large screen experiential/immersive experiences, including animated films for Europe’s Largest Digital Ceiling at the Printworks in Manchester and more recently, Chester Zoo’s multi-screen ‘BEASTS’ experience; that uses immersive floor projections and stunning 360-degree visual displays, taking visitors on an 8-minute animated adventure through a world inhabited by fantastical creatures.
